How does it work?
01
Download the app
Download and install the free FlamAid Companion app from the App Store.
Register with your name, email address, and password.
To take full advantage of all the app's features, grant all the permissions requested by the app: push notifications, Bluetooth, and GPS location.
Compatibility
The FlamAid Companion app can be installed on iOS devices to use with the grenade and on Android devices to receive emergency alerts. The devices must meet the following minimum compatibility requirements.
Apple iOS:
iOS 18 or later
Compatible with iPhone and iPad
Android:
The Android operating system has not passed internal compatibility tests with the grenade, although you will be able to receive alerts from Apple users.
Notes:
If the FlamAid Companion app is installed on a device running an unsupported operating system version, this may result in a loss of functionality. If you uninstall the app while using an unsupported operating system version, you may not be able to locate and reinstall it from your app store.
02
Add Your Emergency Contacts
Ensure that the people you choose as emergency contacts have downloaded and registered in the FlamAid Companion app by following the previous step.
The “Your Emergency Contacts” section shows the contacts who will receive your alerts.
Add a new friend by searching for their email address. Once you select their username from the list, your new contact will receive a request in the “Your Friends” section of their app.
Once your request is accepted, their name will appear in the “Your Emergency Contacts” section, and they will receive your alerts in case of an emergency.
You get 3 friends for free, forever.
03
Add your FlamAid device
Use the FlamAid grenade to enjoy a true protection experience. It will make it easier for you to call for help in the most critical situations, just by pulling the ring.
To pair your FlamAid device with your FlamAid Companion app, launch the app. Make sure your smartphone’s Bluetooth is on and connect your first device in the “My Devices” section. Press the Bluetooth button on your grenade for 5 seconds or until you hear the melody.
Confirm the connection by accepting the “Bluetooth Pairing Request” message.
04
Check protection mode
Want to hear how it sounds?
Make sure your smartphone’s Bluetooth is turned on. Pull the pin on your FlamAid grenade. The audible alarm will activate, and the emergency screen will appear on your FlamAid Companion app.
You have 60 seconds to stop the emergency in case it’s a false alarm by pressing “Stop Emergency.” The app will request your FaceID or passcode to ensure no one else can silence an alarm for you.
05
Sending alerts
To send emergency alerts with your location, your smartphone's location services must be enabled. If location services are disabled, your emergency contacts will still receive the alert, but without your location.
